Meet the guide
So, you may be asking yourself, “Just who is this Twin Cities Tour Guide?” Well, since you may have asked, I will answer. My name is Blake Wanger, I am originally from Milwaukee, WI and I have lived in Minneapolis since 2006. I currently work as a tour guide for Twin City Trolleys and the Wabasha Street Caves and also substitute teach. I also do freelance tours (read on for more info). I have a degree in American Studies from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. History, architecture, theater, and teaching (I have Wisconsin and Minnesota teaching licenses for grades 1-8) are passions of mine. One of my favorite activities is improvisation, and I have been learning and performing improv for almost eight years, including many years with ComedySportz.
I have spent the last two years exploring and learning about the Twin Cities, checking out the places every tourist sees, discovering some hidden gems, and learning the stories behind the cities. If you would like to discover the Twin Cities in person, I would be happy to guide you along the journey by creating a customized itinerary just for you or leading you on a tour. All ages are welcome! Your tour will be designed specifically for you, and focus primarily on the places in the cities that appeal most to your interests. Plus, in an effort to save you money and help the environment, I make my tours as eco-friendly as possible. We can tour on bikes, via public transportation, on foot, or any combination of the above. The best part? I don’t have to buy gas for any of those things, which means lower rates for your tour. Tour times are negotiable, and I will do my best to accommodate you. I am also happy guide tours in a vehicle you provide (such as a bus, or van, or car), but you would also need to provide a driver as well.
